Ringing in the New Year.....B'ville style!

We decided to spend New Year's weekend at my brotha's house with his family and my sister and fam! We trecked to Upstate NY for a 3 day weekend of family, fun, snow and lots of laughs!

Cupcake played with her favorite cousin/bestie Tink. I love watching the girls play. Well, they don't play they stand next to each other arguing over who can place with which toy. Sooooo, needless to say there is some screaming and lots of tears.

The older kids are just grown up and act as great babysitters for the girls. They are also great at encouraging the girls to try new things, like snow tubing. Oh wait, the father's suggested that. Cupcake and Tink were thrown on tubes and flew down the small "hill" outside of my brother's home, it was so funny to watch the smiles from ear to ear and hear screams of joy. We need to find some tubing places for when they are a little bigger.

For the actual NYE celebration we cooked, deep fried, baked and ATE lots of good food (shocking I know). We also played Just Dance or whatever Wii thing was big at the time. I HATE any dance game, I am a horrible dancer. I'm great at free style dancing when it includes alcohol and bars, lol (kidding, slightly).

It was time, Dick Clark rolled onto the TV to wish us all a Happy 2011 while Ryan Seacrest pulled at his strings like the puppet master he is. Before we knew it the ball dropped and we said goodbye to 2010 (not a bad year) and welcomed 2011.

Christmas Day celebration - 2010

After all the Santa excitement we had to prepare for my family to come and break bread with us! Well, we had more than bread but the eats were great! My parents came over early to spoil our little cupcake (after her nap of course) and my brother and his family come over as well. We will see my sister and her family over New Years weekend.

Good times had with my family. Merry Christmas to all!

Did Santa come to our home?

Oh my goodness, Santa Claus, was he here? We are trying to explain to our little cupcake who Santa is and why we love him so much. Doubtful that she understood it this year but so much fun seeing the smile on her face as she saw so many new toys under the tree. I hope she doesn't expect this every morning! Santa left so many wonderful, new, shiny toys and HER VERY OWN KITCHEN!! OMG, we can't wait to see the delicious treats she makes!

This year Santa left an extra special gift for Daddy too, a new Mac Airbook. I had the best laugh since Daddy spent most of Christmas Eve complaining about Steve Jobs, Apple and all Mac products and how he would NEVER spend money on anything in the Apple Store. Well, thank goodness that Santa did the shopping since he left a wonderful present! Daddy was speechless and recanted most of his statements from the night prior!

Momma received a pair of Uggs this year. I will admit I have spent most of my adult life "hating" on Uggs. I think it is bizarre for grown women to wear footwear the color of toasted marshmallows on their feet, especially when they are dressed up in their finest work gear. I caved and asked Santa for a pair this year. Not just the traditional pair, I actually lugged myself in the Ugg store in NYC and shopped around for heinous footwear. I came across my favorite pair, the "Bailey". So cute and sooooo comfortable. I wish Ugg made coats and gloves too. Anyway, I can't wait to commute into the city in my finest attire and fluffy boots! Christmas Eve - 2010

Another favorite time of the year! Christmas Eve at Nonna and Pop's! You all know how I feel about this dinner! It is so much fun and now its even more fun because cupcake is here to celebrate with us AND she is mobile! Look out Santa, we have another little person to add to the craziness!
