7 years of wedded bliss!

Happy Anniversary to my dear hubby!!! Who knew that a brief meeting would lead to a courtship, marriage, rural life, a beautiful little girl and a BOY on the way!!!

That's right folks, we are having a BOY!! I had my 20 week ultrasound in September and we found out that my bun was a male and he was extremely active in there. I was on the fence about finding out, hubby "had to know". He gave in and let Cupcake remain a secret until her arrival however he needed to know this time. Part of me wanted to keep this a secret. After all, how many surprises do we really have left in life. I LOVED not knowing who Cupcake was and after a long delivery the doctor finally held her up and said (slowly), "it's......a.........(what!!!!)......GIRL! It was the best feeling however Hubby really wanted to know. He kept thinking of ways to convince me that we needed to find out. He finally came up with a good point that if the baby is a boy then I can spend the rest of my pregnancy shopping for a boy, decorating a blue room and preparing for our son. He had a GREAT point because if this baby is a girl then I have everything and really shouldn't need to buy a thing (right!). So after several changes of heart while the tech was looking over our little bun, she said "okay, I need to know, now is the time". Before I answered she laughed and said "Wow, I haven't seen a baby this active in a long time". I immediately replied with "Oh my god, it's a boy, isn't it". She laughed and said "YEP, you are having a boy"

OMG, my whole world just changed. I am a mother to a little boy, I have a little boy in there, I have a son and he will love me FOREVER!!!!!! I always knew I would have a daughter, I had to have a daughter and once Cupcake arrived I was at peace and didn't care what we had from this point on however I wasn't sure if I was a mom to a boy since my life revolves around tutu's, pink, shopping, tiaras, ALL THINGS GIRLS. I didn't not want a boy but I thought it would be easier to have a girl. Holy hell, the minute I knew I was carrying a boy, everything changed, my heart melted and I was in love. I love my daughter and am jealous of the relationship she has with her father but now I have "MY BOY". I can't wait to meet him, hug him, love him and mold him into the perfect man because he is the second coming of Christ! I am so fortunate to have a beautiful daughter and now a son!!!!! How many weeks are left until we meet?

So, back to our anniversary! We are celebrating the 7 year itch with a dinner out kid free (only the one I am carrying is coming). I am very lucky to have an amazing husband who is a great provider, protector, cleaner, best friend, wonderful Daddy and all around great man! Happy 7 years, may we always be this happy, healthy, blessed and loved! I LOVE YOU!!!

Bonfire Time!

What screams Fall season better than a BONFIRE!!! Gigi and her parents decided that we should all gather together around a big ol fire, tell stories, roast marshmallows and just laugh our pumpkins off! I was a tad bit nervous about the night since we were at Little L's birthday party all day, naps were limited and now we are off again at 8pm for a good ol hayride to a bonfire site. I was nervous about a hayride since I'm pregnant and all but just the night was going to be long for all of us. We had so much fun and everything was so festive however Cupcake almost had an accident. She was running around the camp site and everything was going great but for some reason she decided to take a turn and she almost landed directly in the fire! THANK GOD my husband has reflexes like a ninja because he jumped off the log, caught Cupcake and threw her across the grass. If he didn't the story would have been much different and not a good one to pass along.

After the excitement we hung close to the tables and ate our treats. We had a great time, thankful the night ended on a high note than a sore note (or a trip to the ER). Thanks Gigi and her parents, we had lots of fun, looking forward to next year and a babysitter. Sorry if we were too much!

Little L celebrates her birthday

It is wonderful that all of our friends are having kids together since they are all around the same age. It is so much fun to have built in friends whenever we go out. I just wish that we all lived closer so we could have more fun days together. One of our friends celebrated her 4th birthday this October and we were there to help blow out the candles. I'm still pregnant and feeling great! Hubby stayed home because he has endless homework this weekend.

Cupcake and I hit the party and we were beyond ready to celebrate! We had so much fun playing games, bouncing in da house and sliding down that gigantic slide. I didn't think Cupcake would ever want to leave. Oh, forgot to mention that she is very shy so when we are around anyone we are not around on a daily basis she usually takes a loooooooong time to warm up to everyone, not today! Well, I did find Cupcake in the corner of the room at one point during the party. I was so nervous that she was too shy to play, oh no! I found Cupcake in the corner of the room but it was because she found a motorized Jeep and she wanted to ride it. She knew that she wouldn't be able to ride it at the party so she decided she would sit in the Jeep for.the.rest.of.the.party. until the cupcakes arrived.

Thanks for a wonderful party Little L, can't wait to celebrate again!

Move over boys.....I got this!

Not sure that I mentioned this but Hubby decided to further his education to obtain a MBA degree. I am so proud of him for wanting to do this especially after working all day, dealing with me and Cupcake and actually having the attention span to learn something. The reason that I am sharing this is due to the fact that Cupcake and I will sometimes venture out on the weekends to some random "around town" activities so we can get out of the house for a few hours, give Hubby some peace and quiet and just have something "fun" to do.

This particular Saturday I found out there would be a "meet and great" at the local firehouse. This really isn't my thing nor do I think Cupcake is that interested however it is free and something to do! The minute we stepped on to the firehouse property Cupcake took off like a bat out of hell. She LOVED the fire trucks that were on display, antiques as well as new, shiny ones. There was a tour or a speech however when I'm not interested in something I can only comprehend every 6th word from the person speaking. I know it's rude but I just can't do it. I am trying to change this because 1) I need to set a better example for my child 2) it's rude 3) I may actually learn something 4) it's rude. Anyway, Cupcake went into every fire truck, even the one that was gigantic, scary and brand spankin' new. She even kicked some older boys out of the way so she could buckle up and take this baby out for a spin. She got in the drivers seat and asked "where is the siren button". Good lord, that is all that I need.

After the tour we noticed a lonnnnnnng line..........that could only mean one thing.......free food! By free food I mean free hot dogs, chips, soda, water, OMG! I turn into Tom Cruise jumping on the couch when I know there is free food to be had! Not that I'm cheap but free food is amazing. It really isn't and most of the time it tastes free but THERE IS FREE FOOD! Cupcake marched into line, grabbed her chips and dog like she owned the place. I probably need to re-evaluate the way I parent.

Anyway, it was a great day out with Cupcake. We hit a local attraction I may not have ventured to if Hubby was with us, we learned about fire trucks (her not me) and my insatiable appetite for free food was satisfied. Good day had by all!

Play group fun....and it's OCTOBER!

We made it! October is finally here!!! Since joining MOMS club we joined a play group within the club and rotate houses for play time every Thursday. I am so happy that I found this group of women! They are a great bunch to hang with, talk to, bitch with oh and their kids are great too so Cupcake can come along and play too!

October hit and it was my turn to "host" so I decided to have a mini Halloween party. I really do love Halloween! I think Cupcake is starting to get into the spirit too, she seems to gravitate towards orange and black lately. The kids really are so cute and so easy going. Give them snacks, toys and possibly a craft to make and they are happy. Actually, they love playing on the porch with Cupcakes cars. Whatever works kids! I think Cupcake is torn between a pair of brothers. She loves all her new playmates but I've noticed that one set of brothers seem to have catch her attention. For now we will call them N and C, I will work on "naming" everyone later. N is a year older than Cupcake and C is a year younger. Depending on how the wind blows some mornings she will ask "will N be around today?" or "how bout C, is he comin'" It should be interesting to see how this unfolds. Sad thing, I'm not sure if they even know the possible love triangle. If you notice she did stop during the "party" to take a picture with C, who knows!

All in all we had a great play date, this club is really working out for us!

Cupcake Photo Shoot

I am trying really hard to get some things done before baby Smith arrives. We had our "summer of Cupcake", big girl room decorating and now just some pics of Cupcake by herself. In the past I have taken her to some indoor studios and she always seemed so leery of the photographers. Well, maybe that's because they really aren't professional photographers and don't always know the perfect ways to capture children. Now listen, if you work at the mall and take pics maybe you are great at your job. For every person who is great (at anything) there is usually a dozen people who do a crappy job. I'm not trying to be a hater but it is annoying when the girl who just finished reading "Idiots guide to picture taking" shows up and says "hi, yeah, I loooooove kids and I looooooooove pictures and not sure why your kid won't look at me but I will keep taking pictures and pray that one turns out great instead of trying a new pose". That's like me saying "yeah, I'm great at eating, cursing and wanting to punch people in the throat let me make a career out of it". Come to think of it I sound like a truck driver. Okay, bad example! In all fairness I have encountered a few photographers at the mall who are fabulous but this time I wanted something different.

I found this great photographer from my friend Mrs. Peacock! She took her children Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet and Mrs. White to a fabulous lady for some pics! I looked through her site and found some ADORABLE poses. So instead of waiting around I booked her for an outdoor session, spent 12 hours on the internet finding the perfect tutu, shirt and hair accessories and met the photographer. Cupcake had so much fun at the park taking pics, playing with the ducks and costume changes. I was so happy that Mrs. Peacock connected me with the photographer thanks again!! I was happier when I say the beautiful pictures of our little cupcake that I booked her for Baby Smith's arrival!

Cupcake and Tink

I came across a few pics of the girls together while we were "upstate". I love watching them play however I enjoy looking through pics again and keep wondering what they would be like if they lived closer to each other. They would be little wash women, besties, bosom buddies, sisters. I hope they always remain this close!
