Trunk o Treat!

I grew up in an urban area. We spent all day going house to house for hours, our town (not neighborhood) was a grid so you would walk all the way down 9th Street (crossing over several streets) before hitting another street. We could trick o treat for hours! When Halloween was on a weekend we would start early in the day and make several pit stops back home to unload, pee, eat and get more candy, it was an ALL DAY adventure.

I live in the burbs, here we have scheduled time (could be because the world is full of freaks looking to harm kids) and only a strategic kid could accomplish what we once did. Sooooo, in order to safely have kids trick o treat the burbs created "Trunk O Treat". Cupcakes daycare also took part in this so we decorated our car (I was the only one to volunteer) and gave out candy while all the little daycare kids marched on by!

Cupcake was confused (again! I'm hoping she is insanely smart because she is always starring at us wondering what we are doing. I was that dumb kid with a smile on my face ALL the time not questioning anything). We had so much fun watching the parade of kids and even marching with them while we gave out candy and they feasted on the goods!

Halloween is almost here!

Pumpkin Picking!

If you haven't read from my 1000 posts I will remind you again, I LOVE FALL!!!! I am more excited now because cupcake can pick pumpkins with us!! We piled in the car and went to the same pumpkin patch we visited the past 2 years, I guess it's a tradition. Cupcake was so confused about what we were doing but she was a good sport climbing in to the wagon, hayride and walk through the patch for some good ol' fashioned pumpkin pickin'!

We had fun but noticed that cupcake was a tad bit quiet most of the day. We originally thought she was nervous/confused but oh no, she is sick! Please oh please do not tell me that we are going to go through another round of fevers! Please let our little cupcake feel better......and soon!

Cupcake's favorite pasttime

Our little cupcake learned so many things while attending daycare. One of her favorite activities is to put her babies to sleep. Okay, that sounds so sweet however, when she first started this we were a bit nervous. We thought this was a bit odd. She would line all of her babies on the floor, face down/belly down and would cover them with a dish towel (usually over the head). I thought this was cult like behavior and almost called the Dr. but then realized that she is 18 months old and FINALLY figured what she is doing!

Our sweet cupcake was putting her babies to bed!!!! What a good mommy!!

Fall Fun 2010

We had a wonderful summer vacation (a tad late in the season but it was still great). We returned home and cupcake started "school". We love the daycare she attends, she learns from 9am until noon everyday followed by lunch, nap time (they usually have to wake her) and tons of afternoon playtime. We don't take pics at school, we're not there but trust us, she has tons of fun.

The beginning of the Fall season is uneventful (which is good). I traveled for work a bit and we spent the rest of the time preparing for all the Fall goodness!!!

Ocean City, MD 2010

Ahhh, the sun and sand really changes your outlook on life! It was Cupcake's fist time at the beach and we had an amazing time! We played on the beach, walked along the surf and splashed in the pool. After our long days we headed to fantastic restaurants and feasted on fabulous crab cakes, tuna, shrimp and anything else that you can find in the ocean, mmmm. Cupcake even tried tons of fish and loves tartar sauce!

There were a few nights that we hit the boardwalk to take in the sights (not as glam as the Jersey Shore) and even put cupcake on some rides. I'm always nervous that she is too young for what life has to offer but our girl was determined to sit in the teacup, ride the pony and ride the balloon. We all had a great time riding the rides with our little girl. She was pro! I was waiting for tears but instead I saw bright smile from ear to ear and the words "yeah, yea, yea" meaning she was ready for more! This is a great vacation!

Pack your bags Clark.....We are hitting the beach! Sept 2010

We survived the rest of the summer, put work behind us and loaded the ol Subaru wagon for our 1st Family Vacation! Nanny and Grandpa decided to join us for a few days to good ol OCMD. We were so excited to hit the road and enjoy the sites. The ride was quick, Princess slept and we were able to move into our condo for the week! Plus side, Princess even helped us move in, she is a work horse!

Since we left on Labor Day weekend (during the potential hurricane) the roads were clear and majority of the hotel was empty. It was so much fun being away from the norm and enjoying fabulous seafood, beach time and pool time. It was a great vacation, even though we had an unexpected guest.....a mouse. I knew I heard that squeak and everyone thought I was crazy but low and behold there was a mouse in our condo (at 11pm). I was of course dramatic but we eventually survived the horrific night. We weren't going to let this ruin our week. Our 1st dinner was great, Princess enjoyed all the food and even tried her first batch of dipping sauces; honey mustard was a real pleaser! I wonder what the rest of the week has in store

Summer Fun

Before we head off on our 1st Family Vacation, I noticed that I left some pics out! We had a great summer. My oldest nephew S graduated from 8th grade and will be heading off to High School in the Fall. Unfortunately we weren't able to celebrate with him because Cupcake was sick!

We had so much fun playing with friends and family. Cupcake even took time out of her busy social calendar to help Mommy clean!

Sad to see summer come to an end......but wait, we still have a vacation to go on!
