Well, that statement is very broad. This day started out as "Take your daughter to work day":
When: Fourth Thursday of April

Acting on research that showed adolescent girls received less attention than boys, this day was initiated in 1993 by the Ms. Foundation for Women. The intention was to give girls additional direct attention and an insight into work world opportunities available to them. It's popularity quickly sparked interest by the boys who soon felt left out and were required to go to school for the day while the girls "got the day off". As a result, the day has turned to "Take your son or daughter to work day" in many areas. While this takes away from the original intent to give more attention to adolescent girls, it has become a valuable and popular career day opportunity for girls and boys alike"
So, Barney caught wind of this day and thought that meant he could go to work with his Dad. Hubby made the mistake of opening the door to the garage and leaving it open a minute too long while packing the car for work. Needless to say the explanation of why Barney wasn't allowed to accompany his dad to work was a long discussion, feelings were hurt, he ignored us and we had to pull out the big guns to get him back into the house. A combo of provolone and American cheese was used to get him into the house. Kelcey wasn't sure what was going on, she just thought we were going for a ride. He pouted the rest of the day but finally got over it.
Maybe next year the "laws" will lessen and hairy kids can accompany their parents to work.
