Hubby and I returned home on Christmas Eve, picked up the pups and headed to the Smith's home for the traditional 7 Fish dinner! We had 14 fish within a 3-day period, it was glorious!
Mom Smith outdid herself again this year with a wonderful feast for all to enjoy. The pups had a great time picking up all the fish scraps and following the kids looking for someone to play with. The kids ran around and waited patiently for all of their gifts and we feasted our way through all 7 fish.
This was Kelcey's first Christmas and since she is normally a shy pup, Barney showed her the ropes. He showed her how to accept a present, stick your head in a bag to rummage through and to jump on everyone to show them how thankful you are. Kelcey was so comfortable that she even let Uncle J hug her. I think she is finally comfortable with all of us.
After dinner the boys smoked their cigars and the dessert cart rolled in. Talk about strappin' on the feedbag! The night was wonderful and we were all exhausted! The kids had to get home so they could leave cookies out for Santa while Barney and Kelcey had to run home to get the bacon and cheese ready. Hey, I don't know, that's what they wanted to leave out and who am I to criticize. I think they wanted to leave out their favorite treats for the reindeer. They are so thoughtful!
Well, off to bed. I hope Santa leaves us something, I think we were good.... most of the year!
