Happy Thanksgiving! It's here, it's finally here. I am so excited. The first Griswald Thanksgiving and we are hosting it! Everyone was brave enough to make the trek down to PA in order to give thanks!
My brother, SIL and kids traveled from upstate NY and arrived Wednesday night to hang out and help out. Mom and Dad arrived Thanksgiving morning with aprons in hand and my sister, BIL and kids arrived at high noon just in time to start eating. It was such a nice day. It wasn't too cold outside so the kids and pups were able to play outside. My nephew J is still quite the screamer, Boo is still athletic beating all the boys in football, K man is still the little politician and my oldest nephew S has grown into a young adult and done with all the reindeer games. The day was great, the food was fabulous and low and behold, we even had time for some karaoke! I ordered some kids CDs and Christmas songs and rocked out until the noise became deafening and we retired to play Monopoly, the new edition where everything costs millions of dollars. We also celebrated Nanny's birthday with a pumpkin cake!
On Friday I went with Mom and Dad into Philly to watch Boo compete in her Irish step dancing competition. She was great and I can't believe how fast that little girl can jig! After the feis we went out for a bite to eat, no, we didn't have cheese steaks, we went to Maggiano's. The food was great and the laughs were plentiful. I forgot my camera but will ask my brotha to forward some pics!
We left Philly Friday evening to return home for some much needed rest. Mom and Dad left Saturday afternoon and I laid on the cough the rest of the day watching TV. Tis the season!
Good times had by all and can't wait to do it again next year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and I am thankful for this blog! It lets me channel my energy creatively - lol
Bring on the Christmas Lights!
